MaxWebPortal has gone open source! MaxWebPortal is a snitz based portal that has been HEAVILY modified with tonnes of features including games, news and lots more. To see a full list go to http://maxwebportal.com/mbenefits.asp .
To download the source code of this forum go to http://www.maxwebportal.com/maxwebportal.asp

Can a moderator/admin move this topic to the MOD W/Code forum? The original author wanted to release his code, not show off his forums.
Eggyfarts, it would be better if you posted the features that are included in the portal.

Hi again,
Has anyone installed this forum? I would like to get an idea of peoples responses/questions/bugs etc. My forum is up and running at http://user.7host.com/terratech/mwp/default.asp and everything is working fine (except for the inc_footer.asp error on the bottom of every page, can anyone help me fix this ) So yeah just basically want to know if anyone has installed it and can maybe show off their site?
Cheers,

Hey all,
Great to see some people already downloading the source code. I have a problem with the slash mod, does anyone else have it? Here is the error:
******************************************************************
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'SlashCode'
/weevaa/slash.asp, line 96
******************************************************************
Can anyone help me with this please. My site is at http://meatsocks.digitalrice.com/weevaa/default.asp
TIA, EF
P.S The site where you download the source code is www.maxwebportal, not http://meatsocks.digitalrice.com/weevaa/default.asp , that is just my test site.

hey man, your portal kicks ass... i just have a couple of things... i am not a asp guy at all, so any help would be appreciated...
when i approve a link, this is what i get
Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'
Server.CreateObject Failed
/portal/inc_mail.asp, line 180
i looked at line 180 and this is what it says
Set objNewMail = Server.CreateObject("SmtpMail.SmtpMail.1")
so what does that mean???
also when you add a link without a banner, is there a way to show the link w/o displaying a broken img link???
thanks again
Jim

About the portal: it looks okay, but the menu looks crappy with the background color changing behind the link when you're on that page. I bet it can be changed to fit the site's color scheme, but on the demo it looks like poop. Also having all those links on the bottom of the forum pages isn't exactly clean looking.
I think it looks better than the other portals that I've seen, but that might be because I don't like all those borders and the sliding side menu and this is a very welcome change...
Not my kind of thing, but it's good to see that there are more options for portals than only HuWR's and Richard's (he has a portal or modded forum too right?).
You might want to find a better host though as your demo is very slow and I got several 404 errors, probably 'caused by time outs or something.
