This is the "standard" mod that let's you add a MSN Messenger section on your forum. More this one adds the possibility to members to have their MSN Messanger e-mail on their profile (the way they can have ICQ,Yahoo,ecc.)
If they do so, a new icon in their profile,members page and above the post, will give you the possibility to add them instantly to your contact list.

Here's the link to the zip file (10 Jenuary 2002)
http://www.audiopro.it/userz/manight/MSN_mod.zip

Here's the link to the read me (included) with the credits:
http://www.audiopro.it/userz/manight/MSNmod_readme.txt

I hope to improve soon the vbs to overcome the MSN application pop-up!
In the meanwhile enjoy it

Aloa!

That's really ODD. The "core" of the MOD is integrally prom a previous one. I didn't modified it, just addedd something in separate files, without changing the mc.vbs at all.
By the way I'll take a look... where can I test it for you?

Ouch! That really hurts... the HTML that is generated is the same as on my site... I suppose you haven't changed nothing in the .vbs file... ... It doesn't even show the OPEN YOUR MESSENGER WINDOW text regardless of contacts. But it showd me the Mail box.
Could this have something to do with ID tags? Or maybe the server.. did you try this on a completly separated page outside of all your forum tags? Just to see what happens...

I made no change to the files. I Have tried replacing the files several times but no success. I will try it exclusively to see what it does. Thanks!

It bothers, when I go to other sites and my contacts and their names show up in there but not my own site.

That's why I'm telling you to put it in a blank HTML page, to test if it's a Server problem or if it's matter of other scripting and tags in your modified forum

So it's not a server problem (it would have been really odd infact, because the whole process is client oriented).
I guess it has to do with other scripts/dynamic event handling on your page. You should turn them off one by one to find out... wow... that can really hurt a man but...it is difficult to IMPROVE on Perfection, There is no harm in Keep Trying

Okay found the reason. It is the script which comes with statcountex which is somehow affecting. The script is in inc_footer.asp. I have not yet found, why?

Here is what I found

In the statCountex script there is this statement

u='' + escape(document.URL);

And in mc.vbs there are these statements

For Each u In BB_
Set H_(CB_)=u
CB_=CB_+1
Next

I changed the u and all references to it in the Statcountex script to uSC and MSN messenger error disappeared.

uSC='' + escape(document.URL);

I guess that's why the vars in the mc.vbs are defined as GLOBAL var! So if you have a "u" var used somehow in FUNCTION in mc.vbs this var is not LOCAL to the function but will mantain its value even if called from another function in another script. So sharing this var could cause problems. Maybe it was this! Well what really matters is that now it works!
