I got this error when I run the upload mod, Anyone know what's going on? My OS is Win2k Pro and using IIS, I know need to make a permissions in my upload folder, but I can't see the security when I right click and choose properties from the folder, how can I set that? Here is the error messages that I got from my file...

Error Type:
Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A0005)
Invalid procedure call or argument
/com/include/clsFile.inc, line 89

-----------------------------------------------

below is the clsFile.inc

Line 86: Set objFSO = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Line 87: Set objFile = objFSO.CreateTextFile(strPath & "\" & m_strFileName)
Line 88: For lngCounter = 1 To LenB(m_vntBlob)
Line 89: objFile.Write Chr(AscB(MidB(m_vntBlob, lngCounter, 1)))
Line 90: if (lngCounter mod 10240) = 0 then response.write ". "

The problem is the directory requires modify rights.

It all ready has write, since line 87 creates the file, line 89 is writing the files content, so it requires modify permissions because it is changing the file.

bb8636

Your post will be considered very disturbing and annoying by anyone. Posting in Caps is considered impolite and Shouting and you have put fire into it by your words and bold letters.

HUWR replied to your post within 22 Minutes and mentioned,

"so it requires modify permissions because it is changing the file."

It was on your part to comeback and post if that did not solve your problem. Someone might have taken it from there.

Now you come back after 5 days and expect someone would have answered without knowing if you still had a problem.

You said in Huw's forum that you set the permissions to Full Control but here you say you can't see the permissions. That's a bit confusing.

But here's a shot at answering your question. In Win2k pro, after selecting the properties you need to click the security tab to see all the rights. That's probably where you saw the rights set to Full Control for the Everyone group. Try adding your IUSR_ServerName to the list and grant that user Modify rights (everything except Full Control). You will need to uncheck the box at the bottom to make those rights different than the Everyone group.

I'm not sure that will make a difference but it's worth a shot.

I think in win2KPro security tab shows only if you have installed it with NTFS option. I have it win2kPro without NTFS option and I do not see the security tab and seems to be the case with bb8636 also.

That is why he can not seethe security tab.

On my system with win2kServer I do see security tab but then that is with NTFS

The partition type is Fat32 before, but I already change it to NTFS, then I can see the security tab. I already add the IUSR_ServerName permissions to the folder, but still not work. Do you had Netmeeting and help me to see what's going?
