here are some extra comments....
i'd like to see this work with netscape...
also, when you press enter, it enters a double space....it would be nice if it only entered a single space....

Wont ever work with Netscape. It works with IE spacific functions.
The double space thing possibly can be 'patched.' Its a built in function, I might be able to design a function that undoes it and redoes what I want it to do.

I don't think Opera will be able to use IE specific parts like the RTE any time soon. Has anyone thought about e-mailing Opera and asking them about it?
... *silence* ...
I'll mail them and see what they have to say about it.

There is no standard for these functions. Only Microsoft knows how they work.
If Microsoft looses part of the anti-trust case, and IE goes open source, then maybe we will see the other browsers adding these functions. (And other really cool stuff in Microsofts DOM)

I don't see any use for this in the RTE though. . . perhaps a calander mod upgrade.

Use with the Lang****.asp Snitz Forums, so it´ll be easier to install with a Danish lang file.

Your not supposed to run betas in a production environment
So there is no point in updating the mod yet.
And when I start making version 2 I dont want to have to keep two seperate mods, one for 3.x and one for 4.beta

can you make it easier to work with other mods such has polls. I do not think I can use this mod now. Maybe we should redo the poll mod.

Over at POstNuke, I found this discussion on making the RTE mode dependant on variables, so it can be included for many different sites requiring usage of RTE, READ HERE: http://postnuke.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1429&mode=&order=0
So I guess for snitz, it would be something like Open.RTE strformname="whateverform" inputname="whatverinoputname ...a.s.o.
- maybe this is the way to go, sínce mod developers + forum modifiers in the future could "call" RTE functions from one line instead of reinventing the wheel everytime?
what do u guys think?

Well, that would be a pre-built unflexable thing. (It would have to use the same commands as the others, only you couldn't change how they worked.) And also, its in PHP.
I will keep an eye on it though.

Well, Nathan... Don't take this wrong, but... Except a few issues (already corrected in offline code), v4.0b03 is functionally the same as v3.3.03 (also including its bugs) and as solid as v3.3.03 is. The reason of being beta is that I did not add any new functionality and database changes to the code.
You can safely write v4 compatible code to be run on English version. If you like, I can help you... What I basically did is **** easy: I replaced strings and phrases with variables. Do the same: * use variables instead of phrases (with a predefined name convention), don't use english language specific coding (such as singular/plural cases) * use the two functions (fLang and fLangN - well documented in inc_language.asp) when inserting a phrase into asp code. * collect all variable="string" definitions in one LangMODS.asp file and include it
... thats nearly all ...
I'll be more than happy if I can help you...
Btw. tmpj's post had these four asterixes not because of the filter, I use LangNNNN.asp where NNNN is the LCID value of the locale ...
