There are several bullited lists in the Dev thred for version 1 that I plan for version 2, I've been too lazy to move them over so far.
Also, version2 will be for Snitz 3.4 (That gives me time to work on another project for a bit )

Ok, here is a list of version 2 ideas from the other thred.
ROBquote: This is awesome! One suggestion for the color select pop-ups: how about ordering them by spectrum rather than alphabetically by name?
Mequote:
- Image upload componant
- RTE ON / HTML OFF (A new problem comes here, that is that Netscape users cant edit posts made with special RTE formatting. Unless we make significant additions to Forum Code. . . additions to Forum Code, sounds like an interesting mod idea)
- Ability to use the 'insert image' and 'insert table' to change the properties of images and tables already in the documnet.
- Expanded toolbars for both RTE and Netscape Editor
- Both types of editors should consist of include files at the top of the document that are split into sub functions that can be called in the approprate location.
- Move username and password input boxes back at to the top, this does complicate things, do you guys mind that they have been moved to the bottom? (This is what complicates the poll mod.)
Morpheus73quote:
- Make it work with existing fileattachments; so that you can attach other filetypes with a link to them
- Rich Media attachments; users can attach and display Flash,AVI,MPG,RAM and Quicktime movies, which are shown automatically when topic is opened
- make images linkable: a link can be attached to an image, so that when image is clicked user is taken to that link
- INternal link? - make an object (text or image) link to another forum category/forum/topic chosen from a dropdown (copy of inc_jump.asp) in a popup
And the HTML flag on/off thing, I think I finally figgured out what you guys ment, I'll consider that too!
I might try to make a function that replaces the <p> with <br's>
And I think it would be nice if the editor started out with default font size and face.

I dont think an image editor really fits into this mod.
It might be an idea for a seperate one.
(Also, I try to stay away from applets)

I got it.
All the RTE functionality is MS DOM stuff. . . . thats why it doesn't work in Netscape and Opera. ;)

Rich Text Editing.
When you edit a document in MS word you can edit the fonts, styles, stuff, ect and see in your document the style changes as you make them. When you are doing a post for these forums, you canot see the styles and stuff you see B in stead of B.
The Rich Text editor mod allows you to edit your posts as you would edit a word document.
You can see it in action over at http://www.frutzle.com . I should have my demo board back up soon!

If you know how the editor used on the message boards at the MSN Communities (http://communities.msn.com) works, you'll know how the Rich Text Editor works. You can write your text, format it and insert images and when you post it, it'll show up exactly the way you edited it. Take a look at this topic on my forums for a simple example: http://www.frutzle.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=76

If you're not registered to my forums yet, please don't try to register as you'll get an error (don't know why yet). I have set up a special testing account a while back so use that. Username / password: snitz / snitz
