OK heres the deal, with some kinda script he spammed our forums and practically killed it, he signed over 1000 new members up and spammed about a few thousand new posts within 1 hour, how can i prevent this ?
Which files do i need to update, i really really need help here, we got several 1000 using our forums everyday, we are an anticheat site, and well we are a major taget towards little tards and spammers.
Help asap please )=

You could install the random password mod and flood control mod.
Random password removes the ability to enter a password when people register and they will get a (randomly made) password e-mailed to them. With that password they can sign in and then change the password.
Flood control checks the last time a user made a post and then checks the current time when he/she tries to submit a post. If it's within the time set in the flood control (you can change that in the admin section) they will get a message telling them they'll have to wait a little longer.
These two combined might just be what you're looking for.
I think both can be found at http://freeaspcode.net/snitz and if they can't all you have to do is let me know and I'll send them to you.

Ok i installed Random password with the email thing + ive installed ip ban mod, but it seems to me that i can only ban 5 ipīs + 5 ip ranges, then its like filled , true ?, or how can i ban more ?

I have one suggestion,
try to set all your forums to allow member list only except one then add your members one by one to the member list or kick them out one by one from your list.

I mean you could add all your members to allow list first then wait and see what happen next...
The only problem with this method is that new member can not post their message immediately after register themselves in your forum.

Did you install Flood control too? It's a small MOD but very effective.
About the IP ban mod:
I don't know the answer, but you can try posting that question in the Help: MOD Implementation forum if nobody answers it here.

this ban ip mod and 5 ip's is true. the developer said he fixed it in a the newer mod but i have yet to see it..

Not at the moment. Probably would give an option to install 5 more ban ip and ranges fields. I guess something to do for the next update.
But you would need to add more text boxes, increase the arrays for the ips and ranges and I think you might have to increase the size of the database field. Not sure what I set it to. You would also need to add more checks for the extra 5 ips and ranges in the admin file so it will effectively add the | pipe between each ip or range before insterting it into the database. That's if, you want to install more ban ip and ranges on your own.

ok listen, i installed all that stuff, but somehow they manage to come back with new IPīs new IP ranges and they got a SCRIPT that signs 1 up, makes one post, then signs one more up and makes one post etc, today they made it with 1200 new members and 1200 news posts and dunno why but it killed my forum for THE 3RD TIME this week, im simply about to give up on snitz forums, no matter what i install they come back and find a new way, grrrrr.
Ive had snitz now for the last 2 years and been very happy, but this sux, that i cant do jack than to watch them screw up my forum )=
Now after this happend all is dead i cant even get the defautl page up )= HELP !
Can someone help me if i zip the forum and look at it, try to fix it, please, i extremly desperate here, we got so many users and id be sorry to loose it all )=

Have you tried contacting you host about this and asked them if they can trace which ISP that person (or group) is using? Then you could present the log and other hard evidence to them and perhaps they can do something about his/their action?
I don't know, but I don't think there's much you can do with the forums other than what you've already done.
Sorry to hear you have to put up with this.
