i get following error at default.asp
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Selected collating sequence not supported by the operating system.

/www/forum/inc_functions.asp, line 608

i also get this error when i open the database with access97 and try to open a table...
i tried usinf the access driver to open the database conenction but same error

could you post your connection string from config.asp,
( change anything that may be sensitive)

What version of the forum are you using?? Did you make any modifications??

The more information you can provide, the better. Maybe even posting line 608 would help.

I to am experiencing this exact same error message either through the forum setup or trying to open the database in access. Looks like it was set up with a non-standard code base or language.

I think the problem is operating system (that includes that you have installed PWS not IIS for Windows NT and PWS do not support some features). I have the same problem, everything works fine on my NT machine and the same error appears on WIN 98 machine.

I got this error too when installing a new forum running on PWS. I was using the database file that came with the zip for the SR4 version. But I got fed up with it and changed the connection string to point to another forum database that was running SR4 on it and the error went away.
I'm not sure but maybe the database might be have been corrupted in some way? *shrugs*

I am also getting this error..
But .. I have 2 servers .. The forum works fine on it But the News page I made doesn't but it does on asp-world.com
Weird..
/me smacks PWS in the teeth get IIS 4 on there
