Here's an update.
- Add feature to see who voted in a poll for admins and mods. Done
- Add feature to prevent users from viewing results before they post. Done
- Add the admin help for the Poll Configuration. Done
- Port poll mod code over to the 3.4 version. (testing it on a 3.3 version at the moment) In progress...
- Test to see if everything works ok in 3.4. Not Done yet
- Test to see if code works ok using mysql database. (can't test sql db) Not fully tested
- Write installation instructions. Not Done yet |

Well, I don't plan on using the poll at all. I will be more than happy to test though. I can test it on MS-SQL 2000, MySQL, and access on a win2k server running IIS5 and mdac 2.7 if you need another test or two before you feel good about releasing this thing into the wild. I also keep current unmodded versions of 3.3.05 and 3.4.03. Drop me a line if you need anything Davio.

I will take you up on the SQL offer there burt. I am not releasing it for 3.3 only 3.4.

Is too late or do you think it would too much to ask to get an UNINSTALL (from previous version) component into your POLL MOD in progress?

I usually provide an uninstall database setup file to remove the database fields with my mods.
Not sure what you mean by uninstall from previous versions? |

I am converting the files to the 3.4 version. There are 21 files in total for the new mod. I have converted 5 out of the 21 so far.
After that, I will test to see if it works ok. Then write the installation instructions. Then I will do a beta test with a few users before releasing it. |

Another update for you poll hungry fans:
I have completed the convertion of the poll mod files to the 3.4 version. Took me a lot of sleepless nights to complete this.
I will now test the code and see if everything works (I am sure I will get some errors). Then write the installation instructions.
I will be looking for 2 or 3 beta testers to test the poll mod code before I release it to the public. Burthold is already one of those beta testers, so I would need 2 more. I want to test the upgrade script so I would need a beta tester who has installed a previous version of the poll mod. |

I have a rather inactive board, 3.4.03 running Access 2000, with the previous installation of your Poll Mod in the backend. I could test an upgrade for you. My files only have the Message Icons and Avatars Mod installed.
Actually, I have another forum on another site (inactive as well... waiting for the rest of the site to be built). I upgraded it from a previous version with the Poll Mod to 3.4.03 and I only have the New Events Mod installed. That is also using Access 2000. |

Could? I want you to be sure. You will probably run into errors and would need to report them to me. You will have to modify code to fix errors you report. You might even have to modify your database as well. It is not to be used on a live site. This is a beta.
If you are unsure any at all about installing the beta, then I ask you to wait for the full release. I want to know you are confident about doing this.  |
