Hi,

I run a website ( www.gangland.net) and I run a 3.1 forum no problem. It runs under a different directory than the usual forum. So I uploaded 3.3 to the forum directory, uncommenteds the access database line and the virtual 2000 MDB line, I changes nothing else. I always get a server 500 error when I try and go there, I know its not a web problem as the older forum works 100%

Any ideas?

Paul

this means it can not open your db, check the permissions on it's directory

Hi Huw,

I tried moving it to the cgi-bin and it made no difference. I host on an NT host which I have no problem running the 3.1 version. I did notice that there was no Access2000 path o I added my own in the config.asp. Here is the config.asp lines, am I doing anything wrong? the file is in

e:\domains\gangland.net\user\cgi-bin\snitz_forums_2000.mdb

'strDBType = "sqlserver"
strDBType = "access"
'strDBType = "mysql"

'## Make sure to uncomment one of the strConnString lines!
'strConnString = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 97 using virtual path
'strConnString = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("/USERNAME/db/snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 97 on Brinkster
'strConnString = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=e:\domains\gangland.net\user\cgi-bin\snitz_forums_2000.mdb" '## MS Access 97
'strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=e:\domains\gangland.net\user\cgi-bin\snitz_forums_2000.mdb;" '## MS Access 2000
strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("\tools\snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 2000 using virtual path
'strConnString = "driver={SQL Server};server=SERVER_NAME;uid=UID;pwd=PWD;database=DB_NAME" '## MS SQL Server 7
