I am trying to run my forum off my host's web server. I have the forum running fine on my local machine using IIS, but am unable to get it working when I post to my server. I am using the Access 97 database that comes in the tools.zip folder. What must be done to get this working. If the directions are to long to post, PLEASE email them to me at golovemd@optonline.net. I appreciate any help that anyone can give me. Thank you.

I'm also having the same issue. MS Access 97 from tools.zip. IIS on Win2000 works fine but when I transfer it up to my webhost, constant errors when connecting to setup.asp. My files reside in the /forum folder with the exception of the database which is in /cgi-bin.

My question...what should the permissions be set to?
I have Read/Write for Owner, Read for Group, and Read for other.

This is an awesome database...if I can get it to work on the webhost.

I need help on this one too please! I'm brand new to this, and I did liek the instructions said. However when I go to the setup.asp page, I get a 404 page not found error. The site is hosted at Interland on a Unix server.

The most common issue with the access db on a host is giving proper permissions to the web server account, which is usually the IUSR_computername account.

Often, you need to contact your hosting company and request they give write permissions to the database file after you upload it.

Another common problem is trying to install the forum on a host that doesn't support ASP, which is the case with most Unix/Linux hosts.

Yep - that was the problem. Duh, I should have realized it would not work on a Unix server.
