Just wondering if the new version does a better job of closing DB connections and setting connString to null to prevent the "too many client tasks" error.

No, because it's not the cause of that error. That error is caused by your host not having their server configured properly.

ok. well, i'm with readyhosting.com and other people seem to have had complaints with them.

any other suggestions for a good, reliable, not too expensive asp host out there?

also, how do you enable the email subscriptions at the topic level? i can only get it to work at the entire bboard level.

For your question about hosting, you might check out the Forum Hosting forum.

About the Topic Level Subscriptions, I haven't really looked at that feature lately so I'm not sure... It used to just be a check box when you posted a reply, it must have moved somewhere...

Though Richard is right, we have decided to close all recordsets and connections we open explicitly, just to avoid further complaints by ISPs
If you find a recordset (or more) that isn't closed, please report pagename and linenumber in the bugs-forum.

Is it the same reason I get the 'network is busy' error sometimes with readyhosting.com ?

Subscriptions and moderations work in a sort of cascading fashion, so you need to set the option at all levels.
So, at category level you set subscription to allow topic subs, and the same at forum level

I was getting this error quite a bit with readyhosting.
After several emails and one bad phone call they did finally get it corrected.
They told me they had to increase the bandwidth for my site.
The only person at readyhosting that I've had any success with is "Andy" he's in sells. If you complain enough (something you shouldnt have to do) they'll fix it.
