It's not a problem with my date and time settings, those are updated automatically, and have nothing to do with the problem. I would really appreciate comments by people who use Win2k and have successfully used this boardhost. As I can't seem to locate a support address for the company I'm going to take a guess and send an e-mail to support@snitz.com and hope that it exists. Thanks again for the quick responses, and let me clarify that while I'm not a technical genius, I do have more than a passing knowledge of how computers and the internet work. If it's obvious, I've probably already tried it.

What happens when you uncheck "Save Password". Does it let you log in?
If the date on your own PC is not correct, then the cookie might be expiring as soon as it's set. The date does have everything to do with the expiration of cookies.
Please quit starting new topics, I've locked your other 2 on this same subject.
I'm not sure what you are wanting here. We are trying to help you. You definitely aren't providing us with much info.
This very forum is running on Windows 2000, so it obviously works just fine. I use Windows2000 at home for my test forums and they work fine as well.
There is no reason to send any e-mails. This is the support for Snitz Forums 2000. |

I use Win2k(Pro) and never had a problem, and even connect to this board from my Win2k Server with no prob.
I just set up a Win2k Server at home yesterday running my test forum on, you can try connect to it and see if you have that same problem. Just login using Username & PW of guest1 / guest1
The forum is here

I've only experienced this problem on win9x boxes, and one was running IE5.5 and another was running 6.0 beta. Check your security settings, and the internet zone sections as well, make sure cookies are allowed, also if you're running win2k download sp2 it'll solve a lot of your problems. I'm running the server on a win2k advance server box from home as well, and I've never had any problems with it and win2k

Richard, I appreciate your help, but did your read my previous messages? The reason I was starting new topics is that I could not log in, and was not able to reply to topics. Stupidly enough, unchecking save password worked on this forum, although I'm not sure why. It did not however work in the other forum that I am trying to post in, and the reason I came here in the first place. The date and time on my machine are correct, as I stated before, I understand how that would cause problems, but since the date and time settings are correct I don't see how it could be the reason for this one.
I provided you with as much info as I have, I cannot log into a forum created by your company, for an unknown reason. My account is open, and I can access it via computers not running Win2k pro. I have deleted cookies several times with no result, my date and time settings are correct. I don't know what other information you might need, but ask and I'll give it willingly.
Why would you not want people to send e-mails? If the answer cannot be found in the forum, which it obviously hasn't, you should welcome e-mails at your support department.
Let me reiterate, unchecking save password worked for this forum, but not for the other one. The forum is run by a Korean held game company, and I was hoping that you would be more helpful since most of their techs speak little english, and I speak no Korean or Italian. If you would like to check it out you can visit their forum here.
Intrepidone, you were very helpful, and I was able to log into your message board using that user name and password without a hitch. I still don't understand why I can't log into the other one. I've tried everything. Thanks for the help, now at least I know that it's only on that one board, and not every snitz board in existence.

I registered on the forum you gave a link to above, the problem doesn't seem to be with them. I was able to login with no problem.
Sorry if I sounded a bit rude, but the problem doesn't seem to be with the forum at all. It seems to be a problem with either your computer or your browser.
For example, a few days ago I had set my computer ahead a month doing some testing with something. I tried to login to one of my test forums that runs on another computer and after every login attempt I would be back at the login screen (just as you have described). Reason being was that since my computer was set ahead 30 days, the cookie was expiring as soon as it was set.
I really wish there was an easy way for us to help you. It's easier (for me at least) to be physically sitting in front of the computer in question, obviously that's not possible in this case. |
