Hi folks,
I'm sitting at a Chapters internet cafe and thought I'd say hi... I'm gald most of you are jumping in helping on the Access problems...
In regards to the inc_function.asp page, what I do is put all the "non-Snitz" custom functions at the top of the page with some comments to that effect:
' //////// Start Custom Functions /////
... custom functions here...
' //////// End Custom Functions /////
Once again, Access users, some modifcations will undoubtedly be required to get it working for you. When I get back, I'll try and organize any proposed changes and post a fix...
I'll try checking in again later, if I have the opportunity...
Good luck...
Rob

Rob, Is the Posting Restrictions Mod (from HuwR) required? If so, is there a way to easily remove it? Also, if it is, make sure you put it in the instructions for the forum as one of the dependent mods.
What about you other guys who are using Version 2? Do you have the Posting Restriction Mod installed or not?

Yes I have posting Restrictions Mod installed. It is easy to install or remove if you have marked the changes.

I finally got this working after some fooling around last night, but I'm interested to know if anyone knows what the field F_USERLIST in the FORUM_FORUM table was created by and what it is used by.
After installing all the necessary mods ( posting restrictions, forum ordering, and I already had the avatars and message icons ) I still could not get it work work NOT in Admin mode b/c it was looking for that field and my table just didn't have it. I was able to remove all references to it, and it works fine, but I want to know exactly what I took out.
Rob,
Gorgeous mod! This is a lot of great work you've done here. Now I just have to figure out how I am going to re-write my site so I can use this to populate half of it LOL. Thanks for the work, it is greatly appreciated.

Yes Bookie! I am using Access 2000. Big9erfan I think the userlist field has to do with the allowed members for restricted topics or forums. Since there is allowed members table so the userlist might be obtained from that table by running a query.

When installing this mod I get this error
No value given for one or more required parameters. /test/forum/inc_functions.asp, line 70
Line 70 of inc_functions is
set rsAccess = my_Conn.Execute(strSql) select case rsAccess("F_PRIVATEFORUMS")

What is the error? Check the field names you are trying to fetch with the sql are in the database table.
