I just installed a Snitz forum on my website:

http://www.pilatesconnections.com/

Everything looks great until I try to register, and I get a registration screen much different that the one I used to register here. It asks for a username, but no password! And then when I submit, I get an asp error saying that the username field must not be zero-length (even though I completed that field). Any ideas?

Tom

Go back into the Admin Options and change the Authorization Type back to DB, right now it's set to NT.

I don't think that's possible via the forums? Usually they can't enter the admin options in NT mode. They would have to manually change the C_STRAUTHTYPE field in the database from nt to db.

But I may be mistaken.

Thank you both for your prompt response! I got the Authorization Type set to 'db' by making the change directly to the table. So far, so good...

However, I was not able to change my default admin password in 'Admin Options.' The only way I could figure out how to do it was directly in the database.

You change the admin password the same way you do a normal user password, through profile...

Thanks again, everyone, for your help. My forum is up and running with no problems that I can discern.

I want to thank the developers for such a terrific, easy-to-use (did I mention free?) product. I began the installation last night and frankly expected many days of frustrating problems. Just one minor glitch in the Authorization Type field, and with your help, that was quickly resolved. I am a first-time forum administrator, so I really did expect the worst. Now I just have to wait for my site to get registered with the major search engines; then maybe I'll get some forum participants...
