Has anyone considered a MOD to use <div> instead of <textarea>?

I have been playing with this a little bit and it allows you to modify the text in a more user freindly way.

Anyone looked at this before and shunned it for reasons I have yet to encounter or shall I keep pushing?

Ya thoughts

Cheers Az

Yes, that is the down side - I am fairly sure this will only work with IE, (maybe Opera).

I'll bash it out anywho and see what happens.. it's all good learning anyways.

Cheers Az

I doubt it will work with any non IE browsers as this is dependant on the
CONTENTEDITABLE Property.

Sadly, and I do not think it is possible, you can't apply individual changed to text within a textarea. I have managed to make all text bold, red etc but not selected text.

Can anyone confirm that is impossible.

Thanks Az
