I have a check box on my register form so the member can add their birthday to the events calendar. One question that I have is that the events are entered with dd/mm/yyyy. Obviously, the birthday occurs every year, so, what would be an easy way of having the birthday show on the calendar every year?
how about this idea: everytime someone registers, it checks all the birthdays and if that date has already passed, it adds one year to the "yyyy" part of the date. would this cause a major slow-down since it has to look through all the member's birthdays?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

hmm i thought they are entered as mm/dd/yyyy. unless you've modified it, of course.

hmm, i would probably go about this by creating an addition field called "RECURRANCE". if an event doesn't recur then it is inserted with a 0. if it's recurs every year than it's 1. month 2. week 3. etc. Birthdays will be events with recurrance of every year so it is inserted as an invent with recurrance of 1.
That's the insertion part, for the display part, you have to select the RECURRANCE field to see what it is and display accordingly. if it's 1 then just check the month and day and don't worry about the year.
all this adds up to alot of manual coding and modifications.

hmm, i don't see why you would do this.
