right, i would like sombody to volunteer to re-arrange the way profiles are views. I think that they could be displayed a bit friendlier, displaying information which is relevant to mods like whos onlnie, buddy list, etc, etc. I think somthing like this would be great
displaying the users picture aswell as thier avatar and title/rank in one column, with general info in the larger left hand side column, with options to send PM, add to buddy list, and links to prevoius posts. I appreciate that most of these things are already their, but i think if they were reorganised it would look excellent. anyone fancy this one?

it's more difficult than you think. the pop_profile.asp has like 4 different case statement to it and the formatting of the stuff is not the easiest to read. There's also tons of if-then statements for all the different field options as well as checks for strExtendedProfile or not. There's quite alot going on in just that one page!

You can always just use a new file for displaying profiles if you don't want to edit the current pop_profile.asp. That way you can make the layout however you want.
Is the picture you made above from a current HTML file? If so, adding the ASP code to get the info from the database and display it should be pretty easy. |
