The thoughts been running through my mind for some time, but I think it would be a good idea. If anyones bored, feel free to think about it. Also, to refrain from unnessary database consumption, once a personal message read receipt is opened by the initial sender, it would be wise to automatically delete the receipt entry.

I recently visited a site being set up by redbrad0 (not the site listed on his profile). I don't remember the URL, but what I do remember about it, is that in his PM, when you looked at your outbox, it had a collumn entitled "Read" and said Yes or No below it. Maybe he would share how he did that.
However, there's already that basic functionality in the PM mod. Read messages show up with a yellow folder, unread messages with a purple folder. But if the message has been deleted from the receiver's inbox, I beleive it is also deleted from your outbox. Obviously though, this means they must have read it, unless they deleted it without ever reading it (which is possible).

Thanks for the new info! I have never noticed that basic feature of the PM mod (scratches head) guess I'll have to try that one out again and let ya know the results.
Although I do like the extended feature redbrad's inbox! Perhaps if he stumbles upon this message he'll fill us in on the details (nudge nudge)
Thanks again

I'm hoping he responds too, because I'd like to know what it was he did to get that working myself. *cough* *cough*
