My server has told me that the reason we are getting some pretty constant error connections is that we need to upgrade to an SQL server.
If I do this, how much code needs to be changed in the forum, and how difficult is it to change it?
I really know nothing about the forum code.

You just have to change the strDBType and strConnString in your config.asp file.
Did you want to keep your current posts/users, or start from scratch. |

If we make this move, we'll want to keep all the current posts and users. Is that possible?
Also, I'm not 100% sure we'll be going this. I've just contacted the server's Customer Service department and said I didn't understand why we'd need to upgrade when they assured me previous to joining them that the plan supported an .asp forum and we wouldn't have any trouble with the site.
But thanks, it's good to know it's not a lot of difficult recoding to switch, should we decide to take that route.

Yes, it should be possible to import your current posts and messages. |

Thanks, Richard. I just hope that won't be necessary. The server has told me they are researching the problem, so maybe they'll come up with another answer.

Hope it works out for you. Access should be able to handle around 20 concurrent users. |
