1) you do not need to create a database, a access database is included in the download.
2) PWS (Personal Web Server) is a less function version of Internet Information Server for Win 9x
3) Explained in readme.txt
4) You can change the look and feel very easily in the Admin section once the forum is set up.

The same thing is happening to me Joe ! I d/l software fine, however now I have 154 separate files that I dont know who to open them. Iv'e d/l win zip program before, all I had to do was open folder. So whoever it out there, what on earth do we do now. I have a PWS I use to upload to website with. Are we suppose to upload the win.zip file to web site, then it installs board. I thought this was a program file, or a HTML Code that we copy & paste to web site. How does this work now. Do we host it on our puter? I host ICQ Web font already, there is no more room for much else. I hope you don't mind me Joe asking for help, but your topic seemed to fit, and I didn't want to start another topic that you already started. Thanks if anyone can help. http://www.flamineagle.com quote: Keepin An Eye On The Sky

All 154 files that came in the zip file need to be uploaded one by one to your web server in a folder called "forum". You will need to use an ftp program to upload your files.
Also your web server or the server where you have your website needs to be able to support ASP pages.
If you want to open any of the files that came in the zip, you can use NotePad.

Hi, Oh that was nice ! Thank you Davio & RaiderUK ! Did you get all that Joe? I'm not that great at all this type of stuff. I need it simple. I will ask Qwest if they support ASP Pages. They don't support FP2000 server ext. But do FTP. I will ask and let you know. Joe, Also this is how I get PWS. Go To Start, Programs, Accessories, Internet Tools. There is Personal Web Server, I also have Web Publishing Wizard which I use alot. I heard also about a free program called Cute FTP? I don't know if it's what is needed however. But I do know you should have PWS with win. 95 & 98. I downloaded the web wizard from Microsoft update apart from PWS. It came on my new PC. Can you go to find files & folders, type in Personal web server, find now. It should puul it up if you have it. Oh if my server dosen't support ASP, then what about free sites, like yahoo, angelfire, tripod, to name a few. Just to help Joe & Me ( Thanks Joe ) to get our board running. Thanks again

Those free sites don't support ASP. You can look in the Forum Hosting forum to find a few free ASP hosts you can host your forum on.

Hi again. Nope, Qwest does not support ASP pages ! But i'm not surprised, they claim to support FT2000, but not FT server ext. or most of the ext. So what about ICQ, or another free site. I can always put a link on qwest for this message board. How are you doing Joe, still hanging in there with this I hope. It'll be great, once we learn how to do this !

Hi, Really, you have ICQ here, but I can't use ASP pages on ICQ? Well I went to the link posted above, and by the sound of it there aren't any good free ASP sites. Not even fair sites. I'm already paying way to much for what I have with Qwest, plus web forwarding, plus domain name on .com & . net. But I will use This : http://www.bandwidthunlimited.net/hosting/ to host Snitz forum. Since that seems like that was the plan. Snitz host for Snitz forum, that makes sence. I will have to wait for some money to " Free Up " untill then. thanks for all your help, and I still like this forum the best ! Will have to use the free ones for a bit longer, and pull my hair out complaining about how slow they all are, with little or no support.
