I am trying to set up a forum. When I try to test it, no matter what I try to open, it automatically is opened with Front Page Editor. Although I am trying to open it from a browser window, it still defaults to that. Has anyone else had this problem?

Do you have a webserver on your computer? If not, you will need either IIS or PWS, or any other ASP capable webserver.

It could be that .asp files are associated with Frontpage on your computer and that's why they are opened in Frontpage.

It looks as is FP is the default editor for .asp files. However, the problem I am having (and I am sorry that I did not explain myself well) is that when I try to open the .asp file in a browser windoe, a "file download" screen pops up. Then it it asks me if I want to either save to a disk or open form the current location. When I check open from current location, it opens the file in FP editor.

I am using FP 98 on Windows NT.

You have to open an asp page via it's URL. If you are opening your browser then navigating to the asp page using http://webserver/folder/page.asp and you still get a download page, your webserver has a problem processing asp.
