Hello all.

I apologize in advance for this topic. I did read the sticky, but Im hoping someone can at least steer me in the right direction. I am not a dev, just an amateur user.

I am a member of a club that uses Snitz forums as its primary way to keep in contact with everyone else (and they are great! Not sure what we would do without them.) One of our other members, who originally setup and hosts our website and forum, is threatening to leave the club and "take the website and forum with him." While its a shady move on his part, we are concerned about losing all the content our current forum contains (over 10 years) if he does leave. Is there a way to copy our forum contents so that we can find another host and setup a new forum with the same content we have now?

I really do appreciate any reply on the matter. Thanks for reading.

It's not perfect by any mean, but you can mirror the website so at lest you a starting point if he pulls the plug.

Thanks for the replies.

I do not have access to the database, so its a dead end. I may start manually copying certain topics to help preserve some of the content if it all goes down bad.

I appreciate your time in replying to my question.

Best regards.

You need only a database backup to save the forum content, bunt you'd need to build another forum to use the content if you can't get the server web files too.

There is no way unless you have physical or FTP access to the site's files. No export functionality exists within Snitz, so you would have to create a connection and copy the directory, etc. Depending on what type of database is being used, you may also need access to the database panel on the ISP.
