Posted - 30 June 2008 : 14:26:32 I got a chance to catch the second half on one of the local stations here in the states, and it looked like a hard fought match. I just wish I'd known that they were going to broadcast it here so I could have seen the whole game.< |

Posted - 26 June 2008 : 13:52:40 Agreed, refereeing has not been first class and specially not with Germany. Before their 3rd goal against Portugal there was an obvious pushing foul on a portuguese defender, by Ballack and they got away with it. Anyway, you should be proud of your players, that was an impressive cup performance.< |

Posted - 26 June 2008 : 08:18:14 Thanks Rui; at least Turks must have mislead a lot of bets on "stuffing Turkey", "Thrasing Turkey", "Crushing Turkey", 5-0, 4-0, 3-0 bets on many predictors :)
On the other hand, entire refreing in this tournament must be judged really.
Last night, it was so emberassing and shame for refree. He seemed so scared and so sided, especially after reactions of germans on the debated penalty(!), he seemed to act like he is scared to whiste blow on fouls by Germany. On rest of the games of Turkey, we have seen that also very obviously. Lahm should be sent-off by two yellows before the half-time. Sadly, only refree did not see that rather than millions in front of TV's. Thank God to replays, they were so obvious. Isn't it?

Picture above did not even get a foul, let alone yellow right infront of penalty line.
Look at Crotia game for example. 3 yellows and 2 were simple fouls overall a Half-Crotian refree Rosetti and Croatian papers were even discussing if he would play as 12th man of Croatia ( http://www.index.hr/sport/euro2008/default.aspx?rubrika=clanak&id=391543 here if you know Croatian ofcourse ) . And he did actually. UEFA does not even check their refrees' backgrounds? And same Half-Croatian refree also directed Croatia vs. England game, what a coincidence and he will direct the final as a prize!
So yes, if Germany played a game like this against Turkish B-team, not hard to guess Russia vs. Spain winner will hold the cup...
Bu on the other hand, Germany at least could finish their attacks, total of 3 shoots on target, total of 3 goals... I tip hat for them. Sad still be lost for defense and goalie error.< |

I must congratulate you on Turkey's game, today. Wonderful display, a team without so many key players, and it played a much more interesting, fun, game. Germany is a total bore. You shouldn't have lost, today.< |
