Ok ive just downloaded and installed version 3 of Firefox and both edit profile page and send new private message page is displaying fine. The input fields are exactly the same size as they display in FireFox 2 and IE 6, 7 and beta 8 and Safari and Oprah.
I cant replicate the error your seeing.<
GarethMoore1979 Posted - 19 June 2008 : 15:00:48
umm...its not like that on version 2.
I will download version 3 to test....<

You've got problems with the display of the profile editing page in Firefox (I'm on v3). Looks like most of your inputs and textareas are a lot wider than they should be. Same problem on privatesend.asp.

Im currently in the process of getting new emoticons/smilies. The current ones on there are ripped off from Yahoo, but ive purchased some really nice ones from istock, which match the rest oif the icons throughout the site.

I have eps versions of all the icons on the site which ive purchased. If anyones wants me to send them the eps files of them let me know.<

Well, then, just ignore me - I wasn't sure what was throwing me off but the only opinion that really matters is that of your members.

Got a test login, by the way, 'til we have a goo at the rest (profile, etc.)?

When you have an account and login, the icons on the top right of each post, there are obviously more (such as PM member, reply with quote, etc etc) and even more if your admin, so this reduces the blankspace at the top area of each post.

If you have the user info at the left hand side as standard, especially with avatars installed, if the user only posts one or two lines of text the blank space is even more prominent I think which was my main reason for changing.
I actually changed the layout of topic.asp in my previous design (nearly 2 years ago) and ive had great feeback from it.<

Thanks guys, (if only the hall of fame was still running! lol),

I dont know about any of you, but when I go on a website and see there is a forum, out of curiosity I always look at the forum. 8 times out of 10 it will be an off the peg solution (usually phpbb), but I always look at the customisation. And forums that are not customised seamlessly into the overall style I feel really ruins a site.
Also if you think about it (especially for my website i particular) its the forum that drives daily traffic to the website. If we didnt have a forum there would only bee a need for people to visit the website once a month. So it makes sense to pay lots of attention to the forum.

Kind comments, glad you all like it! The biggest thing im personally impressed with is the new layout of the profile pages (hate the way they are currently layed out on snitz: http://www.harchester.net/discussionForums/pop_profile.asp?mode=display&id=1)<

Well done, indeed. This is one of the best Snitz customizations I have seen in quite a long time. Your icons fit well with the rest of your site, and whole site has a consistent feel to it. Too often (I am as guilty as anyone about this), we have sites that look great, but have a forum that just looks like a forum with different colors on it.

Very refreshing and inspiring. Thanks!<

Have to say that's one of the best Snitz customisations I've seen yet. You would barely know it was Snitz!

Seriously good job, Gareth. <

Wow!!!! For this I sincerely bow to show my respect!!!!! Excellent job!<

Looks good, man Rare thing these days to see someone put the time and effort into fully customising the look and functionality of the forums so yours is a nice change.

Not sure I like the layout of topic.asp but I don't know why; could be that I'm just used to seeing the user info sitting beside the post or if it's because it takes up a bit too much space, often distracting the post itself.

Also, it might be an idea to add the title attribute to your icons as it's not always blindingly obvious what they do.
