I was wondering if it would be possible to add directories to the one directory that contains the images members have uploaded/attached in their posts?

Examples: one directory/folder for graphics, one for family photos, one for friends' photos, etc.?

People are Soooo into posting pictures these days! It doesn't seem to matter if their child suffered a broken arm, the family dog drug up a dead squirrel, they got a little snow, they found a funny billboard, their neighbor's house was burglarized, their family has been in an accident, or their grandma is in intensive care! If it happens, they ARE going to get a picture of it and post it!! LOL

Suffice to say, one directory simply is not enough to hold all of their photos without it being a horrendous size!

How do I allow unlimited folder creation for members?

How would I do this?

probably the best way would be to create grouping rather than actual folders on the web server so that photo's could be grouped/categorized and displayed accordingly

It's possible, sure. But you'll never guess all the different ways that people will want to categorize their photos. Some will want separate folders for each/every vacation destination and year, some will want separate folders for each person whom they photograph regularly, etc. So you'd either have to allow unlimited folder creation for all your members or drive yourself crazy creating them.
