I would like to implement a mod to my search option to be able to search either by individual forum, the way it is now, or by entire category. I searched Snitz but did not find anything. Has this been done before?

well, try using the search2 link in my post and narrow your search down to a specific category, it only times out if your search is too broad.

And what did I say in my first post, that you so graciously referred to: "I searched Snitz but did not find anything."

And when I can't find anything here, I always get the infamous error:

quote:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/forum/search.asp, line 349

Thanks for the great support, once again, Huwr!

no, the search2 has exactly what you asked for in the first post. I can't direct you to the code as I don't know where it is, you could try searching for it

Thank you, Huwr. Can you please direct me to the code? Also, I recall in the past, Rui modifying the code to speed up the search or to make it less resource intense. Does "Search2" have this updated code or something better?

it has definately been done before as we have that alternative search page here http://forum.snitz.com/forum/search2.asp
