I have looked for this but can't seem to pick out anythign specifically and want to know if I can do this?

Basically I want to keep miyw out of any usernames but those I assign those letters to including m i y w at least I want to try and keep anyone but who i assign it to from using it at registration.

Anyway to do this?<

Hmm didn't think about using that. Sometimes the easy answer is staring you right in the face. thanks shaggy<

Why not just use custom titles to highlight employese? Only you, as the admin, can change those.

Yeah all I want is the miyw and a couple variations of that to not be used except for when I as a admin assign it to people. Mainly I want everyone to know who is from my company and no one try and desguise themselves as an employee.

Thanks will take a look at a couple of those suggestions<

Thanks! If it were a snake it would have bit me!<

I'm guessing manually is probably easiest, but if it's going to be a regular problem could you not filter out the letters as you wanted in register.asp and then create a simple admin page for yourself to edit usernames? I haven't checked the function but possibly add the letters to the illegal character check for register.asp? You could always make it possible for you to edit usernames in pop_profile instead of a new page if that'd be easier, i'm pretty sure there's a mod floating about for that.<

Hmmm. I just tried to test it out. I input a username in the UserName Filter Configuration. I then created a new account using that name and it let me. What should it have done instead? I must have messed up my file somewhere.<

it just stops people using certain usernames, it does not allow you to pick and choose who can use a specific name, that would require you to know in advance they were going to register, premonitions is not one of the forums core functions <

In the admin panel, what does the UserName Filter Configuration do?<
HuwR Posted - 31 March 2008 : 17:37:39
theonly way you could really do that is manually, how else will you know what someone is going to use in advance?<
