The Silent Knights forum is planned to become an airborne history page. One thing I noticed, is that many reenactors wished to show off their list of impressions (kits), and spent their signatures posting these elaborate lists of every impression they've done in their 20+ years of reenacting. As a result, I would like to hopefully cut down on this. Instead of using a "hobbies" or "bio" sections that are rarely used among the reenactors, I would like to attempt to convert it to "Impressions" and "Areas of Interest"

The most obvious would be pop_profile.asp, and I also know that admin_config_members would need to be changed. To my knowledge, I've seen nobody else trying something like this, or else I am not searching in the right areas. Would someone help out on making sure these are the only two areas? I think I can definitely find the information once I am in the sections, but I do not want to miss something.

(This is the last mod I plan on doing....I think!!! LOL...I'm starting to grasp everything).

Although we won't be changing much more with the profile. I just wanted people to have a place to put down their reenacting impressions, because some guys were using these massive signatures that listed every impression they've done from when they started reenacting in 1975 to today. It took up so much space, and was just annoying to read. For the most part, I'm pretty happy with what we have right now. I have a couple mods I've looked at, especially since I am starting to grasp ASP finally. However, I'm gonna have to take a break and salvage what I can of my sanity...and let those that helped out take a breather as well. lol.

It's best to change even the text box names, I didn't at first and had some trouble when I wanted to change it more later =) (Changed the wrong boxes and things got really confused..).

Ok...got it. I modified only the displayed text, not the actual text box names. The three files necessary were inc_profile, pop_profile, and admin_config_members. Nothin' too extensive, but it works fine if you don't edit the parts that don't have the colon after it (There is a section that has names in quotation marks, but its not necessary to end those).

The forum is almost fixed...although I spotted a problem with the Split Topic Mod.

My apologies. This is the only topic I have found that comes even close ( http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=59690 ), and I am really not coming up with much else that has useful information. I'll go through and try to mod the four files you listed...see if that works. *crosses fingers*.

I think you need to mod inc_profile.asp also, and probably register.asp too.
There are lots of posts about this, one only a few days ago.
