Posted - 11 April 2009 : 11:37:12 All right, let me try this again here (even though I don't think this is the right forum either).
I'm looking for a *simple* RSS mod to my forum -- I'm trying one (I guess just called RSS Feed) that isn't working at all and doesn't seem at all simple (well, mostly because it isn't working :>). So I'm looking for advice on what mod could I use.
Any suggestions? |

I'll post a problem to that thread and maybe someone will know the answer then. |

Posted - 14 April 2009 : 17:03:32 Okay, so is there a mode with timestamps (and/or fewer other problems)? |

Posted - 14 April 2009 : 06:40:50 There're no timestamps in the rssfeed.asp file (among other problems) which could well be what is causing the problems.

Posted - 14 April 2009 : 06:24:50 FWIW, I've noticed that the Google reader has a slight delay with some feeds, but not others. I have yet to find any rhyme or reason. |

Posted - 14 April 2009 : 06:10:47 I'm trying to use rssfeed.asp here (mentioned, as of this writing, in the thread below or at least near the top).
While it *appears* to work (that is, it allows me to subscribe to it and the first time I used it it did indeed bring up the new topics) it doesn't show me any new topics added anymore, on either of my forums, using Google Reader. Google Reader works with other RSS feeds, so I doubt whether that's the problem.
I haven't examined the code, but I'm curious as to how the RSS feed actually works without logging me into the forum -- does it just bring up the most recent topics and, if so, what criteria does it use? Perhaps it's just not selecting things added within a few days or something. |

Posted - 11 April 2009 : 19:09:41 we also use rssfeed.asp here too, it really couldn't be any simpler, so which are your trying to use and why do you think it isn't working ? |

Posted - 11 April 2009 : 14:10:40 I use two. rssfeed.asp (Richard Kinser) and rss.asp (MarcelG) and both are very easy to use. Richard's rssfeed.asp you just drop in your forum folder. It couldn't be easier.
