Hi, I upgraded the system form Windows 7 to Windows Server 2012 R2 64bit. Everything works, but I noticed a slower forum navigation and in same cases long wait to show pages.
Could it be a ODBC connections issue? I still the same string of before...Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0

Is there any known issue with Windows server 2012 R2 64bit?

some problems... after upgraded, entered to forum is requested to upgrade the DB
quote:
The database you are using needs to be upgraded !!

Code : 80040E09
, but after that the page is blank

I also tried to install a fresh database and the setup page reply with a good database creation, but after I come back to default.asp I have the blank page

you may need to just load the setup.asp page to refresh everything (you won't need to run anything, just choose go back to forum if the page indicates everything is ok)

Ok, tomorrow I'll try the tool, hope to not have problems with it and improve performance and avoid index issues.

After completed the migration, Hhve I to do something on the forum? apart to change the connection DB string?

the tool is probably easier (it didn't exist back when that post was made) but following the steps in the post would also work

I found in the forum this procedure for migration access to sql https://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=63884

what do I have to follow? this guide or simply use the tool you suggested?

since you are using a windows server, I would install sql express, Microsoft provide an app for migrating access to sql
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssma/access/installing-sql-server-migration-assistant-for-access-accesstosql

Thanks for the reply,
I was already thinking about to upgrade to MySQL o SQL Express, do you suggest SQL Express? is there any migration procedure?

anyway, before the upgrade everything was much faster, and the DB dimensions are similar

There aren't any known issues, however you would probably get much better performance using SQL Express rather than an ACCESS database
