I know I've run across this before but it's been so long I can't remember(imagine that) :
They (hosts) migrated our db to a new server and I don't know what else) and now we get these characters in various posts.

Why these characters, and how to fix same>

I could think of no way to search for an answer to this so here it is...

any help would be appreciated

if not almost impossible...

I have long unused fields in there as well from discarded mods and some vain attempts at improvements.

To save the posts, replies (mostly ARCHIVED, which is another layer, I'd think) and slide them into a new layout is challenge enough, I'm sure.

I'd STILL like to see a member be alerted to a reply in a post they made, and ability to "call them" to another would be nice, too.

makes me stay with what I've got after threatening time and time again lol

I AM interested though, this time

well, quite a few will be redundant in the .net version, but obviously the more you have, the more difficult it would be to migrate, I have noticed there are many slight variations even in peoples implementations of standard mods making upgrading the database difficult

scheeese...
my MODS have mods!
HuwR Posted - 19 November 2016 : 02:46:10
it's coming along great, am hoping for a proper release in the new year.

I don't suppose you have a list of MODS you have installed , .net version has a few already built in

I'm feeling it's about time to switch to your .net upgrade...
How's it coming along?
(my only worry is all my MODS and tweaks) SOME I'd want to keep and some I'd like to kill with glee, but MOD I must!)

lol

still there so I assume it was overridden "somewhere"... but it may help with some other posting issues, so I'll keep it handy.

Thanks

I'll give it a try...

see what happens lol

might be worth adding a
"<meta HTTP-EQUIV=""Content-Type"" content=""text/html; charset=windows-1250"">" or something similar to inc_header
golfmann Posted - 17 November 2016 : 15:27:13
not sure... but I... didn't change anything
is this a server side thing to be set by them (uft-8)?

(I can't find any meta code in the asp pages I've looked at)

I know.. I am such a stupid)

It is encoding, but not sure where the fault lies, are you pages set as utf-8 ?
