Posted - 08 April 2012 : 14:38:46 In the past few weeks, I've had 2 emails from members saying they've received messages like:
XXX has posted to the YYYSITE Forum board that you requested notification on. Regarding the subject - ZZZZ . You can view the posting at SITEURL
though they haven't requested notifications on the topic stated.
Are Notifications stored in FORUM_SUBSCRIPTIONS, please ? If not where are they stored ?
Which script checks whether members have requested notification and how often does it run ? Is the check recurrence configurable ? Which script sends the notification email ? |

Posted - 09 April 2012 : 05:05:19 yes, they are kept in forum_subscriptions, but as an admin you should have a link on the forum menu that allows you to manage them.
Most likely scenario is that they have subscribed to a forum and forgotten, have never heard of any cases where people got subscription emails by mistake.
The emails are triggered when someone posts in a forum that has subscriptions enabled. |
