Hi Classicmotorcycling, bobby131313, HuwR, ruirib

Is all good! I got the email server address from hosting and already typed into the "E-mail Server Address:" box.

Thanks for helpping me for the "forgot password" link and the "mail server address" information.

You could also try putting localhost in there.

You need to change the section in: green with the correct mail server. (try with 127.0.0.1 while you wait to hear back from your host)

Select E-mail Component: CDONTS (IIS 3/4/5)
E-mail Mode: On:
E-mail Server Address: mail.mysite.com
Administrator E-mail Address: email@mysite.com

Require Unique E-mail: On:
E-mail Validation: Off:
Filter known spam domains: Off:
Restrict Registration: Off:
Require Logon for sending Mail: On:
Number of posts to allow sending e-mail: 10
Error if they don't have enough posts:

Hi ruirib,

Great, I will contact the hosting on the email server address. But once I get it, can you tell me which admin section to put in and etc.

Also, can you tell me what function that will work when I enter the "Email server address" there? that way I know what to expect.

Please advice,
Thanks

Email server address you need to get it from your host. It's not an email address, it's the address / name for your email server.
Email mode must be on and the server properly configured, if you want your users to be able to reset their passwords.

Hi HuwR, ruirib,

I clicked ON from the email mode just to try it. the "forgot your password" DID shown up after all.

Do I need to set other ON / OFF, or vice versa?

Select E-mail Component: CDONTS (IIS 3/4/5)
E-mail Mode: On:
E-mail Server Address: email@mysite.com
Administrator E-mail Address: email@mysite.com

No, HuwR didn't mean that. The forum must have email active - Email mode set to On in Admin Options->Email Server configuration. Also, the email server configuration data must have been set.

Hi HuwR,

I just assigned an email in my profile. I hope that's what you asking?

Thanks,
HuwR Posted - 21 March 2011 : 13:31:26
Do you have email enabled on your forum?
goofyguy620 Posted - 21 March 2011 : 13:14:24
Great HuwR,

Thanks for checking! Hopefully sometime easy to fix..

By the way, my bad! It does has the "see topic for days" after all... But it sure DOESN'T has "forgot your password" link.

Thanks,
HuwR Posted - 21 March 2011 : 13:08:10
Do you have email enabled on your forum? if not you will not get the link, that is the only thing that decides whether to dispaly the link or not
HuwR Posted - 21 March 2011 : 13:03:33
mmm, I don't think it is something you have to enable but will check
goofyguy620 Posted - 21 March 2011 : 12:52:30
forgot one more thing, It doesn't even show the box on the right side "show all topic from 30 days" which I also like to have it on my forum.

Hi HurR,

My forum doesn't have the "forgot password" link under the Save Password even login or after logining out?

Beside other links above it has, just below it, it only have the Username, Password, Login, and Save Password. There's no "forgot password" link below the "save password" like this snitz.com forum? it never have one from day first until I just now realized.

Here is the link to my forum you can take it look http://www.whynotpictureit.com/forum/default.asp

Please help,
Thanks,
