Is there a MOD that will allow non-registered users to post topics and leave messages? I have searched and searched for an option to prevent you from having to be registered in my forum, and can not find it, and I have searched for a MOD. One more question, since I am posting, on the option to use the image to submit your log on in the admin settings, is there a default alt text for that image?

That mod will be available when the next release of the Snitz Forums comes out. You can test it here: http://www.dsilvera.com/beta/32_a6/ or http://user.7host.com/davio/32_a6/
You can't put a alt text for that image. It is part of the form. But I think the image speaks for itself. It shows "Login" and "Logout" clearly.

Davio answered half your question. The Alt image is being implemented in the next release. The anonymous posting will NOT. This issue has been discussed before, and I believe the common consensus has been that the legal issues and liabilities outweigh the added benefit of adding this functionality.

No no Dave. I meant that I will be releasing an "Anonymous Posting Mod" when the next Snitz Version comes out. Not that the mod will be integrated into the base code. I don't want to release it for the SR4 version. Sorry if I confused anybody on that.

I have my various reasons. A few of them are: 1. There are some functionality that is disabled in the SR4 release that would be needed for the MOD. 2. This mod requires A LOT of code changes to the forum. I must have modified at least somewhere around 15 of the forum files to get this mod working. 3. I would have to release a next version of the mod to make it compatiable with the next release of the Snitz Forums, if I released this mod for the SR4. Not to mention I would have to work out a way on how the Subscription mod and moderation mod will work with this mod. So that's more work. So I might as well just release it once.
Those are few of my major concerns. It's not an easy mod as the forum is based around a Registration system.

That's nice Davio :)
I also plan to write this mod when the new version come out. Don't know I have same your idea in coding or not :) Further more, I plan to add IP of anonymous user in their post too. That's the way to recognize who own the post.

As soon as possible, exact time is unknown.

The forum already does that. Didn't need to add or change anything to get that.

simple way to resolve your problem if you must have anonymous postings. create an anonymous account with password and make note of it on your forum. maybe under the log in area you can have something that says:
anonymous members can use: guest password: guest
I've seen people do this before...
