Recently, hosting failed to notify me it was time to renew my security certificate so it expired. angry I then paid for the new SSL immediately but it was a Friday and they didn't install the new security certificate until the following Tuesday. angry That was on July 11.

Members who use a Kindle are still getting an error saying my site is not secure. These same members can log in fine on their computer without error. Again, they receive the error only when on their Kindle.

They have deleted cache and even reset their Kindle but the error still persists. I've had them to manually type in the URL for my site, making sure the "s" is in the link, but even that doesn't work. The browser they use is Silk and also the Opera browser.

Does anyone have a suggestion for anything else they can try? I have one member who is basically bedridden and can only use her Kindle.

It might not be a problem with your certificate, more likely an issue with the Kindle browser.

Open your site with Firefox and use the tools to see if there are any issues. This should tell you what they are and then you can Google the error to find a resolve.

Some browsers are a nightmare to work with as I found out, some are just too sensitive for their own good.

you could get them to access it without the s so just use http your site does not enforce ssl so the normal http protocol will work. I checked your certificate and everything look fine, so must be an issue with the kindle browser

Yes, it's definitely a problem with the Kindle browsers, Huw. I've tested it on Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Microsoft Edge and those all load it securely (https).

One member is okay with accessing the site via http, but she says all of the pictures that's been uploaded along with some of the graphics won't load e.g. the graphics in the "SHOW ENTIRE SMILE LIST" area. I've accessed the site via http and everything seems to load fine for me even the "SHOW ENTIRE SMILE LIST" graphics.

Since it's a Kindle browser problem apparently loading old cached pages, would you know how long it might take for the problem to correct itself?

I'm always lurking somewhere in the background, popping in every couple of days waiting in anticipation for the mvc launch wink

The best thing your Kindle users could do is buy a Samsung Tablet and download the Kindle app to it so they can still access their Kindle purchases but with all the advantages of a decent tablet wink

It will be soon I promise, I'm just writing a few docs to explain a few admin things and setup/upgrade problems. Code base now pretty stable.
