Wow, I cannot remember this forum ever being this quiet. Nobody has hackers/spammers, nobody has any other problems, nobody has any mods they want developed. Either everyone quit running forums, they are all on vacation, or Snitz has finally become absolutely perfect.

Replies to someone's posts WOULD be the posts to you... (calling replies or add on comments as posts)

Dedicated REPLIES to a person by name is the rub... lol

I'd do ok with replies to a poster and forget the rest without much provocation... smile
but it all does explain why I've put it off for a Looooong time

I check in frequently but it has been very quiet of late

If you're bored Carefree you could always look at the 'Like' mod that several people have asked for wink

See the FAO Forum mod, that's what it's for. How about private messaging? Wouldn't that handle dedicated "posts to you"? You might also consider the "monitor subjects" mod. It wouldn't be limited to a single forum (like the FAO mod), but could be modified to work off user names in any topic/reply subject line and incorporated into this.

Yea, I've looked into both but dropped it after confusing myself real well on how to do it all and not be private. smile
Thanks anyway.. I can live with the way this is another 10 years or so and do fine.

Every time these kind of posts are posted (nothing to do, where is everyone?, oh so quiet), it always end up with persons giving Carefree something to do. lol Instead of persons just posting what they have been up to. tongue hehehe

Just to keep Davio happy smile, I am still working on the .Net version, I have spent the last month or so using someone's existing forum/database (a modded Snitz) so I can iron out installation/upgrade issues.
I have a couple of things left on my fix list and then will redo the upgrade to make sure I got everything.

What a coincidence. bigsmile Since my wife used to do exactly the same thing, someone might think I was married to all these people. We have a lot of forum owners who aren't programmers, but that's OK. This kind of support is one of the reasons why Snitz remains in use after 15 years.

I would recommend moving Golfmann's concept post (and replies to it) to the Add-On/Without Code forum. On the subject of mods, I was browsing in one of the PHP boards' mod list and discovered that the "Winner of the Summer of Mods Competition" was a simple search by topic title which even the default Snitz installation includes. Here's one for programming bugs (e.g. this particular forum that I WILL write. It adds the ability to quickly add changes to topic titles. When programming bugs are fixed, it would add either (1) "- SOLVED" or "- INCORPORATED" (when the fix is changed in the download code) following the existing topic title. Other than that one, though, I don't have any pending. So I'll work on Golfmann's mod when I need a break from working on my EBook and Movies collections.
As for the "Like" mod, Webbo, I started working on that some time ago but can't remember where I put the code. Among other symptoms, the brain disease I'm afflicted with causes dementia like Alzheimer's, and I have literally tens of thousands of DVDs and more than 30 multi-terabyte hard drives, so finding lost projects is a HUGE task.

OK - I wrote the title changing mod for the modular forum. I'll convert it to the normal Snitz if anyone's interested.
