I am curious about a feature in the standard Snitz that I want to alter.

You know how in the header there is the Profile link? Well, in one of the forums I am setting up, I don't have that link available unless someone is is logged into the site as a member.
What I want to do, and I am wondering if this is not recommended or if is OK, is to have the member not have to log into the edit profile area in order to edit the member's profile.

This occasionally comes up, and I'd have to say that it is not recommended to disable the extra login. Think of all those people who leave their accounts logged in on public computers - do you really want to make it easy for some mischievous person to get into their account?
There's more to it than that, and if you can't find the other threads (long buried and probably not the easiest to find) I - and most likely others too - will hit up some of the other details.<

Thanks Anon for the helpful reply! smile
I really didn't think about the idea until I was exploring a new account I have on an IP Board (IP.Board 2.3.4). I liked how the edit area was seamless with the site without the interruption of logging in to edit details. I've been editing my profile area a lot on my site, which can require a lot of logging in to edit and do whatever. It was just a relief to not have to log in when I was checking out the features on the IP Board, and that got me into thinking "Hmmmmm??".<
