I upgraded to Vista Service Pack 1 today and now I can not RDC into my server. I have the right password and it wont connect at all. Has anyone experienced this after upgrading to vista Sp1? If so, have you fixed it and if so, how did you fix it? I appreciate any help you can share. Thanks.<

Got a new laptop over the weekend and upgraded to SP1 straight away with no adverse effect on remoting into my server. Is it throwing an error message for you at all? Have you tried connecting from another machine (without SP1) to check that it's not the server refusing the connection?

Which version of Vista do you have ? It may be a licence violation to use it on (for example) Home Edition - http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3047625&SiteID=17

Anything here of help - http://blogs.msdn.com/ts/archive/2007/01/22/vista-remote-desktop-connection-authentication-faq.aspx<

I don't think there are licensing issues with the rdc client, but the rdc server is only available on certain versions of windows. <

Make sure you don't have a firewall blocking the connection.<

Sorry for not getting back. It started working magically 2 days later with no changes on my behalf. So as to how I fixed it, yell at it for two days straight and it'll work by itself. smile<
