I was wondering if anyone has coded a better mod to private message all site members. The current code in the pm system to pm all members is fine for small forums but for my website (18,000+ members) no matter how long I extend the asp time out or any tweaks I do, it finds a way to screw up and finish before it sends pm's to everyone. I was hoping maybe someone has done some batch processing of pm'ing all members instead of trying to send the pm to all members at once as it currently does. Does anyone have something like this, or is there a way I can go into ms sql directly and do like some query and have it send the pm to everyone? I tried searching around and didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks!<

On my website 90% of the people don't visit the forum. With a pm and pm notification that is installed, I have a better chance of letting them know of information than posting it on the forum and hoping they will isit the forum.<

Maybe I could break up the PM all routine into segments. Have any idea what percentage is typically sent successfully before it fails?<

I believe it's betweeen 15% and 20% of completion that it falls apart. Thanks Carefree!<

Just to offer an alternative here, if you've got the PM notifications thingy already, you could create a new forum specifically for these types of announcements and modify the notification script to also check for new topics in that forum - saves you the overhead of having to send out 18000+ e-mails.
