Is is possible to block specific e-mail addresses?
For example, I'd like to be able to stop users from registering with free e-mail addresses like Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc. This will cut down on the possibility that people will sign up with multiple accounts. I know it will still be possible, but not as easy if free e-mail accounts are blocked.
Can this be done?
Thanks! Scott

Just be careful with that. A lot of people use the free addresses so they don't have to give out their main e-mail, that way if it gets misused/spammed/whatever its just a free account and it can easily be closed down and moved again.
Its unfortunate that this is also abused by other people who want to use it to sign up multiple accounts and create all sorts of havoc.
Just a little food for thought...<

Hi Podge and AnonJr,
Excellent! That's what I was looking for. I think I'll also add the image mod from Snitzbitz so that when people register they have to type in the graphic numbers. With both mods, that should keep problems to a minimum.
Yep, I realize some people may be put off by not being able to use the free addresses, but unfortunately, I've had problems with people on my old forum and requiring users to have a real address is a must now, I'm afraid.
Thanks for all your help! Scott

If its a must than its a must. Glad you found what you needed.
I'll definitely have to go to your site. I help a local Christian Rock group maintain the computer for the recording lable they started (mostly to do thier own recording) and I welcome any tips I can get my hands on.
We've got Samplitude running on a P4 in a modular garage that Bob converted into the studio. Matter of fact, they're working on CD #3 now.
Anyway, back on topic, glad you found what you needed.<

Hey AnonJr,
I'm sure I'll be back with more questions. I've almost got the new forum up and running. Just doing a little customization so that it will fit the site.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the DigiFreq site. Lots of great info there. And be sure to let your band know that there's a music section there where they can submit their CDs to get some extra promotion. Click on the Music link in the nav bar.
Thanks again! Scott
