I need some help please:
I have uploaded my smiles, installed Smile Manager and went to Smile Manager Admin.
1. Added the code for the smile: [V:] 2. Added the file name: icon_smile_angel2.gif
Made it visble, enabled it and pressed UPDATE at the bottom of the admin section. the smile does not show in the admin box, just an X
Same for posting, I can see where ' icon_smile_angel2.gif' should be put the smile does not show just an X
any ideas?

Is the file actuall in the location specified?<

The file is in the root directory of the forum the same as the default smiles<

Where does the link say it should be? (Assuming IE) If you right-click on the image and select "properties", it should show the url of where the image is expected.<

I had renamed the files I added which gave them a double .gif.gif extension...DOH >ME !

Glad I could help. 
I have fond memories of instructors constantly repeating "check the simple stuff" ... and I'd still end up missing a terminator or transposing some letters in the variable name.
