I thought I'd try a different approach for mod installation instructions, using a compiled help file. I'd appreciate it if someone would take a look and give me some feedback.
Note: Vista users will not be able to read CHM files unless they install the winhelp file for their version (x86/x64).<

winhelp files are not working...
in meanwhile, Windows Vista and XP SP2 users do not need to install anything else, all they need is to UNBLOCK the CHM file

- Right click in the file and choose properties
- Click the UNBLOCK button in the bottom

Regarding the subject...

I do like it, but we could improve readability on it, specially using CSS if possible and the SyntaxHighlighter

Would make it simple to have all mods within a help file like that so its searchable and everything. I agree the readability could use some work though but other than that great.<

That's odd, hadn't tried them in the compiled format. They work perfectly in the individual files. I'm going to have to do some research to see if either (a) I can modify the javascript select routines to make them work in a CHM, or (b) There is no method of automatic selection and I'm just SOL.<

OK - I figured out what happened and fixed the help file. Anyone want to take a gander?<

No, only thing I did to the content was to add the indexed page, fix the clickable text areas, etc.
I didn't rewrite any of the instructions, I think they are fairly easy to understand. As far as the syntax highlighter is concerned, that only works if the javascript files can be referenced on the server or local computer - and that will not work in a distributed file.
I can not change the color of the text within the text areas, I tested that and it has no effect. I can enlarge the text areas, or stack the values in a single larger area, but it will not improve readability.<
