Could someone help me understand what to do about this error when trying to import a MySQL database?
#1044 - Access denied for user
I created a blank MySQL database and I'm trying to use it to import a MySQL database in phpMyAdmin.
The blank database has a different name than the one I am trying to import but has the same username and same password. When I created the username for the blank database, I also made the user the WebAdmin.
So, what did I neglect to do?

Well, I finally got this to work.

I am new at this but this is what worked for me. . . if anyone is interested.
These instructions are for Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5
First of all, here’s what worked in exporting a MySQL database in phpMyAdmin. An improperly exported database will not import properly so we need to make sure the database you're wanting to use is properly exported. Make a note of the name of the database, the username and the password and keep it in a safe place. It’s a good idea to place a txt file containing the username and password in the same folder with the database. Since you will be importing this database to another server later, I found it best to make sure the database has only one username and, obviously, one password.
1. Log in to your Plesk panel. 2. Click on "Databases" under the option "Applications and Services.”
3. Select the domain which is using the database you wish to backup/export and click on “Next.”
4. Click on the icon to the right of the database you want to export for “Database management via web interface.”
5. phpMyAdmin will open in a new window. 6. Click on the database name on the left. 7. Click on the "Export” tab. 8. Below “View dump of database” in the “Export” section, click on “Select All” to select all of the tables in the database. 9. Scroll down in that same column and make sure “SQL” is selected. 10. Scroll down and place a checkmark beside “Save as file.”
11. Do not type anything in the “File Name Template” area.
12. In the next column place a checkmark beside “Structure.”
13. Below “Structure” place a checkmark beside “Add DROP TABLE / VIEW / PROCEDURE / FUNCTION.”
14. Just below that if there is not a checkmark beside “Add AUTO_INCREMENT value” place a checkmark there. 15. Do the same as above for “Enclose table and field names with backquotes”. . .place a checkmark there. 16. Scroll down just below “Data” and if there is not a checkmark beside “Complete Inserts” place a checkmark there. 17. If there is not a checkmark beside “Extended Inserts” place a checkmark there. 18. Do the same as above for “Use hexadecimal for binary fields” or “BLOB”. . .place a checkmark there. 19. Just below that and to the right of “Export type” make sure “Insert” is selected from the drop-down menu. 20. Next click on “Go” and then select a location where you wish to save your database.
To import the above database to a different server follow these instructions below. If you are already logged in to your Plesk Panel and are new at this, it’s best to log out because otherwise the steps are just a bit different if you’re already logged in and are in a different area of the Plesk Panel.
1. Log in to your Plesk Panel. 2. Click on "Databases" under the option "Applications and Services.”
3. Select the domain in which you want to import a database and then click on “Next.”
4. Click “Add New Database.”
5. Enter the same name of the database you exported above for the new database. 6. Select the database type that you are going to use: MySQL.
7. Note the default Database Server for MySQL is “Local MySQL” server. 8. Click “OK.”
9. Click “Add New Database User.”
10. Type the same Username and Password that you used for the above exported database in the appropriate area. 11. Confirm your password and click “OK.”
12. Next, click to go up one level so that you’re back to the list of databases. 13. Click on the icon to the right of the database you just created for “Database management via web interface.”
14. phpMyAdmin will open in a new window. 15. Click on the database name on the left. 16. Click on the “Import” tab. 17. Click on “Browse” and locate the database you exported above. 18. Next, click on “Go” to import the database.
