Can someone suggest a web host? - Posted (1175 Views)

After nearly a decade my hosting service (nee' "Halfpricehosting") is now changing to a format which I can't afford so I need to locate another hosting service.
Primarily I'll be running three Snitz forums along with two or three other URLs (total URLs around six or seven). I've been using Access database and I'd like to stick with that, so I need a host that can do ASP with Access database. I don't want any ad space, so I'll pay for the host, but I also am only doing this as a hobby (I don't make any money from it) so I want to go as cheap as possible (yeah, I know, you get what you pay for, but in this case if I can keep it under $10 per month I'd be thrilled).
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

This is not a web hosting forum. If you want to talk about hosts you'll have to ask elsewhere.

Well, I know it's not a forum on web hosting, but it IS a forum on Snitz, and using Snitz, and I need a host to use Snitz on. I was just hoping some folks out there who have a host they like could suggest one.
But if I've offended I'm sorry -- I'll go elsewhere (and perhaps use some forum software that has friendlier folks who use it. One of the main reasons I've been using Snitz for a decade now has been the help I've gotten on these forums, but with crappy attitudes like yours I guess that's now a thing of the past).

Its not that I'm trying to cop an attitude, its just that hosting discussions tend to degenerate very fast - resulting in the current policy of not allowing hosting discussions.

mkelly, in case you missed it: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41610 As you can see, I'm the one with the crappy attitude, not AnonJr.
We don't suggest or recommend any hosting companies here. If you can't find a decent asp/db web host after an exhaustive google search then perhaps a different technology would in fact be more appropriate for you.

Hi mkelley,

There are competing interests here at Snitz over acquiring new hosting clients such as yourself, so to not break up the greater interests of the Snitz community which are using and enjoying and supporting the forum software, conversations about recommending one host or another are avoided.
