Hello everyone. My name is Steve, and I'm pleased to announce the reopening of SHN Forums. My hope had been for this project to continue to develop under the guidance of Serverhacker, who brought this modified forum into being. But unfortunately, life intervened, as it often does, and Serverhacker reluctantly decided he's unable to continue his development work. Because I believe in the SHN version, and wanted to see it live on, I approached Serverhacker with an offer to take on the task of reopening the project. For good or bad, he agreed... and so, here we are.
I'll stress up front that I am not a programmer or developer. I have taught myself a few things, and I'm learning more as I go. But that probably makes me just smart enough to be dangerous. My experience comes from over 3 years using SHN Forums on my own website, and making fixes, tweaks and modifications during that time. The result is a forum package that I'd no longer consider to be a beta version. Hence the "official" release of SHN Forums v9.0.
Please download the package and give it a try. If you've used the SHN Forums before, you'll recognize the layout. Put it thru the paces. And please report back your impressions. I'll be particularly interested in any bugs or glitches that you discover.
Finally, because I'm not a programmer, I'm hoping that I can count on the help of others who are interested in the ongoing development of SHN Forums. I'll be looking for willing moderators and coders to help provide support and direction for the future.
Thank you, and enjoy.
