I am currently using sigmachat and an integration script.
As it currently works, we log in using forum username and password pulled from the forum database. Administration has powers in the room, but moderators do not.
If anyone has any knowledge of this script, or would be interested in having a look at it for me, I would love to be able to give my moderators the ability to kick/ban users. It hasn't been a huge issue, but we did have one problem where this would have been a blessing!
Something along the lines of:

"if admin" then "what I have now"
"if moderator" then "kicking/ban power"
else
"normal user levels"
