On another forum I saw a functionality that I would like:

When a post is deleted by an admin/moderator, an email is sent to the poster with a reason for the deletion and a copy of the post plus links to faq and forum rules. I think we could use the popup that's used when approving/denying a post in a moderated forum, there the mod/admin have a textbox for feedback to the poster and we already have the email functionality. Including the post into the email shouldn't be that hard either I think? Can anyone see something that could cause any problems?<

No comments? Don't want to start working on this just to find that my ideas don't work =)

Pretty please? From what I can understand it would be kindof straight forward but I've probably missed something as usual.. <

Comment: We rarely have to delete posts. When we do we copy the post and bcc an email to the poster and our moderator yahoo group with a copy of the post and an explanation. And links to The Rules if warranted.
In the two years our forum's been up I doubt we've deleted 5 posts. Instead, we try to lock topics with an explanation before it gets that far. Maybe with some selective editing.
So it just wouldn't be a feature on my top 10 list. <

We delete posts at least once a week. People tend to write the must weird stuff, maybe because of lack of knowledge about how to behave on the internet I don't know. If there is one bad post in an otherwise great thread it's not that funny to lock the whole topic instead of just deleting that one little post.<
