On initial user registration I'd like a registration page which only asks for a few required fields. Then other info can be updated later in the users profile.
I've searched for this off and on for a few years and intended to create one but my inc_profile.asp, register.asp have mods and they are rather complex to pick apart.
Has anyone done this?

So, a simplified Registration. I'm sure this has been requested before. I couldn't find anything by search.<

I'm currently in the process of creating something similar for Woo.ie, which you can view the progress of here and the original registration form, which will become the full registration form, can be found here. While my code will be of no use to you due to the amount of customisation done, feel free to shout up if you need a hand.

Search is your friend
