Got my fiber optic installed today, so I'm up and running again. However, the phone company provided me with a Chinese knock-off of an American modem/router; so 99% of the menu functions which Westerners have taken for granted in similar equipment for the last 15 years simply don't exist. Also, 3 of 4 LAN ports don't work. So now I have to replace this junk with a real American fiber modem and use my own wireless router (which I brought back from the US when I returned). I need port forwarding, DMZ, etc. for training ethical hackers, for testing, for hosting the tech support web portal, and for demonstrating software to customers. Unfortunately, the only working function and menu item is for changing the password to the wireless. |
