I used Marcel's "Weblog" mod I found here and created something I am calling "Status Updates" for members to easily share more about what's going on in their life, what they're doing, etc.

I've been extremely ill for a couple of months and still haven't opened my new domain as of yet. But I think my members will like this ability to have "one on one" replies by other members that should be somewhat similar to that on Facebook although, obviously, it's not near as high tech as Facebook's.

I have the "Active Posts" as a link in my list of forums to better encourage members to use it as a means of seeing everything that's being posted immediately as it's posted. This, in addition to the above will, hopefully, be something like Facebook's Timeline that members enjoy so much.

So this is what I'm wondering. . .would it be difficult to code a mod for some sort of "like" button for Marcel's "Weblog" mod I'm using as a means for "Status Updates". . .a button that would only be for this rather than the forums? I would not want it linked to Facebook by any means but rather only for my website.

Anyone interested?

Oh, I was only able to do this additional "Weblog" to use for the "Status Updates" with the help of Carefree here. Thank you, again, Carefree!

Also, thank you for your "Weblog" mod, Marcel! SUCH TALENT you guys have!

I truly appreciate all of you guys!

Okay, after about a week and no replies I'm assuming there are no takers on this. And, that's obviously understandable. Apparently a "like" button is just not going to happen even if it's just for the "Weblog" mod. So, now I have another proposal.

How about a "link" instead of a button. . .it would serve a different purpose and yet accomplish the same? How about a "link" similar to a "reply to" link that, when clicked on, would "quote" the person, insert a [like] emoticon and submit it as a reply to the post with one simple click?

That wouldn't be too difficult. My head is hurting a lot now, so it'll have to wait until I feel better or someone else tackles it.

OH WOW! How exciting it is for this to be a possibility!

So sorry about your headaches and all of your health issues, Carefree! I don't see how you manage as you do with so many health-related problems! Please don't attempt this if you're not feeling up to it, Carefree.

Praying for you. . .

I was hoping to open the new domain on October 5. However; I really want this to be completed.

If Carefree isn't feeling up to this, any help would be so very much appreciated.

Carefree, do you feel up to this now?

No one else seems interested.

I will work on it tomorrow, provided I still feel alright. It's late and the nurses are taking vital signs every hour - and giving me lectures about getting rest every 2 hours. They medicate me after I ignore them for 3 consecutive hours LOL.

Carefree said this wouldn't be too difficult.

Doesn't someone else have time to do this?

Is anyone at all looking at this?

I've got my fingers crossed!
